St. Patty's Day!

I had a rather fabulous St. Patrick's Day.

We visited our friends who live an hour and a half away who we NEVER get to see one more time before we leave, and let's just say the St. Patty's Day celebrating was a little epicly random...

For instance:

We played bingo, using M&Ms as markers. I won two Tangled pencils ha ha.

Than we went down to the BEEEAUTIFUL church for a little while...

And went a little nuts on the keyboard....who knew Justin Bieber's Baby sounded so good in a big, ehoey church!?

Than we played Apples to Apples for about 10 minutes...and I noticed what my friend had written on her flip flop. Photos were, of course, necessary.

And did I mention we went a LIIITTLE nuts with our tattoos?

Yes, there's a hat on my (fore)head.

We had WAAAAY too much fun.

I love you girls! Happy St. Patty's Day....you make my life sparkle, and I'll miss you very much!

I Have The Best Friends. Ever.

It's true.

And I'm leaving a lot of them soon.

We're moving away from here in NINE days.

New state.

New town.

New house.

New.

New-ness can actually suck remarkably.

There are many wonderful and amazing things here.

I love our house.

I love our church.

I love our Youth Group!!

I love my friends.

I love.

Love is dangerous.

Love leads to heartache.

I won't stop loving this place when I go.

I'll just...love it from afar.

A long-distance relationship!

Fabulous.

So, to all the people's who I am seeing for the last time for a while this week and saying goodbye to, I love you SO much. I appreciate all you have done for me and all you have made me.

And too everything and everyone that awaits me...

I apoligize in advance.

You might what to batten down the hatches and all that.

We redheads tend to take the world by storm : ).

The 80's...

My mother was a teenager in the glorious (and rather terrifying) 1980's. She had the hair. Trust me.

My dad was in college during the 80's and missed all the fun (lol).

Anyway...

As my parents both like music, I've heard a lot of that very echoey, painful 80's rock/pop. I

I'm actually scared of the 80's.

The fashions were horrifying (and we've ressurected a lot of them.....GAAAAH......).

The music sound quality was WEIRD...it actually bothers me for some reason.

They did have a really epic president (I HEART RONALD REAGAN!!!!!).

But they also had SITCOMS like Whose the Boss? and Full House. *shudders slightly*

Today, my mom decided to delve back into her roots and pull up a favorite 80's song/music video. I was actually NOT horrified by it, and enjoyed it...until, of course, I saw the gloves that woman was wearing (lol).

Just watch it... We Belong by Pat Benatar.

Ah, the 80's.

What do you think?

The beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair...

The Catholic season of Lent started today.

As you know from that link up there, Lent is the time of sacrifice and fasting before Easter, which lasts 40 days (not including the Sundays). It is costumary to give something up for Lent, or to do something extra. I chose to do sacrifice beads, and pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet every day.

However, God sometimes chooses to send us even bigger crosses than we anticipate.

Today has been, quite frankly, pretty darn awful. I'm exhausted, I don't feel good, and I anticipate the moment of becoming very hungry, as those from 14 to 66 in the Church are obligated to fast from snacks between meals (not, of course, if they have a medical need that makes this an undo ill to their health).

In the words of the epic and quite amazing Matt Thiessen, "...the beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair."

Life is not fair. I know that. I'm trying not to care so much, because whether or not life is fair, it really is beautiful. In my bumpy journey towards Heaven, I need all the grace I can get.

Grace makes life 'not fair'.

And that's the beauty of it.

(To Cat, Rachey, and all the other peoples who are celebrating Lent and love Matt Thiessen!)

Things about today...

Morning.

Tiredness.

Praying.

Muffins.

Anger.

Frustration.

Cleaning kitchen.

French.

Chicken burrito and mishmashed pasta in sauce thing.

Cleaning kitchen again.

Cleaning linen closet (who knew that was where all the REEEALLY weird stuff was........).

Long walk/run out in the lovely weather.

Funny randomness:

"Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and than it flips over, pinning you underneath. At night, the ice weasels come." -- Matt Groening.

So. That was my day.

You?
